We have received the following new casualty report:

* NORTHERN JUPITER experienced a main engine breakdown whilst navigating the Malacca Straits on 4 January 2020.

* It is reported that the vessel is currently at anchor at Singapore for inspection and repair.

Shipowners have declared General Average as a result of this casualty. Hence, General Average security will be required from all Cargo Interests prior to the delivery of their cargo. We are likely to be able to assist in this regard and we are currently in contact with the appointed Average Adjusters.

We have also retained a marine engineer to investigate the cause of the casualty.

We have already been instructed by certain Cargo Insurers and maybe able to offer certain economies of scale in respect of any third party costs which may need to be incurred.
